Privacy policy

Last updated:

Glance is a Firefox extension developed by Xenuin.com. It brings Google Calendar events and unread Gmail messages from connected accounts into a browser popup. This policy covers the extension and this website.

1. Information Glance accesses

When you connect a Google account, Google asks you to authorize access. Depending on the permissions you grant, Glance accesses:

  • Account identity: your Google account identifier and email address, to distinguish connected accounts.
  • Gmail: unread inbox counts, message and thread identifiers, sender and subject headers, received times, labels, and short message snippets, to display your unread mail.
  • Google Calendar: your calendar list, access permissions, and event information such as titles, dates, times, locations, descriptions, recurrence, colors, and reminder settings, to display your schedule and deliver reminders.
  • Authorization tokens: access and refresh tokens, to maintain the connections you authorize without asking for your Google password.

Glance does not request your Google password, download email attachments, or fetch full email bodies for its mail preview.

2. How information is used

Glance uses this information to display your inbox and calendars, refresh cached information, show unread counts, and deliver event reminders. When you use the corresponding controls, Glance can mark mail as read, archive it, mark it as spam, or move it to trash, and edit, recolor, or delete calendar events. Opening a message from Glance can also mark it as read when you have granted that permission. Calendar changes can trigger Google’s guest notifications where applicable.

Google account data is not used for advertising, profiling, sale, or training machine learning models. The extension includes no advertising or analytics tracking.

3. Storage and sharing

Authorization tokens, cached mail and calendar content, account settings, and operational state are stored locally in your browser’s extension storage. Glance sends authorized requests directly from your browser to Google over HTTPS. It does not send your tokens, mail, or calendar content to a server operated by the developer.

If Firefox Sync is enabled for add-ons, Glance uses Mozilla’s synchronization service for preferences, calendar selections, and minimal reminder action records. Reminder records contain hashed occurrence identifiers, dismissal or snooze state, and timing information. Tokens, email content, and calendar event content are not included in those synchronization records. Mozilla’s handling of synchronized information is governed by its Firefox Privacy Notice.

The developer does not routinely receive or view your Google account data. If you contact support, the developer receives the information you choose to include in your message. Please do not send passwords or authorization tokens.

4. Retention and your controls

Glance retains tokens while an account remains connected and maintains bounded caches and recovery records for its features. Cached information is updated during refreshes. Reminder action history can be retained for up to 60 days to prevent duplicate reminders and synchronize dismissals.

You can disconnect an account in Glance’s settings to remove its local connection and cached account content. Calendar selections and some bounded reminder or recovery state may remain. Disconnecting does not revoke Google’s authorization or delete your messages or events from Google.

You can revoke Glance’s access at any time through your Google Account connections. To remove remaining local extension data, remove Glance and its extension data from your Firefox profile. Local removal does not necessarily erase records already synchronized to your other Firefox installations; manage those installations and Firefox Sync separately.

5. Google API data

Glance’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. This website

These pages use no cookies, analytics scripts, third-party fonts, or embedded tracking. Visiting the website does not connect your Google account. The hosting provider may process standard request information, such as your IP address, browser information, and requested URL, to deliver and secure the website. External links are subject to the destination website’s privacy practices.

7. Changes and contact

This policy will be updated when Glance’s data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes to Google data use will be disclosed before that new use begins, with renewed consent where required.
